Establishing an Individual 501(c)(3) from a Centralized Network

In 2024, my current organization, Redemption Flagstaff, separated from the Redemption AZ network to become its own 501 (c)(3). I was the Project Manager assigned to lead the transition.

Project Scope
Separate from an existing non-profit network and establish an individual entity which includes; HR systems, Accounting, Google Workspace architecture, creating bylaws, just to name a few of the aspects of becoming an independent organization.

Highlights
-Transitioning the branding was the highlight of the project! We moved away from a "brutalist" style of typography and design to a "softer" and more "humanistic" brand which better represented us an organization in Flagstaff, Arizona.
-Hint: notice anything in the new icon? We wanted to keep the "R" integrated into the new icon.

Lessons Learned
People have emotional equity with branding. Even if the brand revision is better, people are familiar with the original. It is important to consider a broader range of stakeholders and develop a release strategy accordingly.
